This project was to design a mixed use complex of buildings, on Lancaster Avenue near 38th street, to include shops, cafes, a grocery store, art gallery and studio, 1, 2, & 3 bedroom apartments. The project encompassed a large area and was done in teams of 4 students.  The building I designed had two parts, one on Powelton Avenue and one situated between Powelton, Lancaster and 38th Street.  The solution was to bridge across Powelton Avenue, connect the two buildings and offer access to the parking garage.  The buildings stepped with the grade to allow access to the pavement from the studios and created two separate courtyards, one that was to be used for a farmer's market and the other as a place of reflection and study.
