Architecture Building

This project was to design a building for the Architecture department at Northampton.  Located close to the campus, there was an existing structure the foundations of which would become the base. The solution I designed was a cantilevered building to maximize the amount of usable space.  The upper floors were cantilevered triangles to give the building an interesting form, but also allowed for water collection and maximized sun exposure.  A portion of this project was also dedicated to a mobile auxiliary structure for storage. This was one of the first projects where green strategies were explored; solar panels, water collection and mechanical sun shading strategies were a constant consideration
